Overview of Bethel:
Nursery
Nursery is available across from the church library, babies
through age 3. More info about the nursery is here.
There are two places in the church to change a diaper – in
the nursery on the upper floor and in the Family Bathroom
located next to the 2 year old Sunday School (look for the
green flag) in the basement.
Sunday School
Sunday School is available throughout the entire year for
ages 2 through adults. It is held in between services during the
school year and after the service during the summer. Maps
are located around the church for directions to classrooms.
More information on our Adult Bible Fellowships, which is
what we call adult Sunday School, here.
Communion
We offer communion service the first Sunday of each month.
Baptism
Baptism services are available through-out the year and are
generally held as special services on Sunday afternoons.
Contact Pastor Rich if you are interested in being baptized.
What We Believe, in a
Nutshell
Bethel Ev. Free affirms the 12-point doctrinal statement of
the Evangelical Free Church
of America. This statement
of faith includes the inerrancy of Scripture, the
Trinity, the virgin birth, the sinlessness and deity of
Christ, the atoning death and resurrection of Christ, His
imminent return and salvation by grace through faith alone.
More on our beliefs here.
What does
"Evangelical Free" mean?
Evangelical
- refers to our commitment to the proclamation of the
Gospel, and to the authority of the Scriptures as the only
safe and sufficient guide to faith and practice.
Free
- refers to the autonomy of local churches, as well as to
the congregational form of government. Evangelical Free
Churches depend upon active participation of lay people in
their decisions and ministries.
Church
Organizational Structure
The church is congregationally governed. The
organizational structure includes pastoral leadership, Board
of Deacons, Board of Deaconesses, Board of Trustees, Board
of Missions, elders, staff and many ministry teams that
oversee the many ministries of the church. The nominating
committee reviews and nominates individual members to
ministry team positions and offices for the coming year. All
nominees must be approved by the Board of Deacons and the
congregational members at our congregational meetings (held
twice per year).
Church Membership
Church membership is open to any Christian believer who
desires to faithfully follow the Lord and identify with our
local church. We offer membership classes at least twice per
year for those interested in obtaining membership. Contact Pastor
Steve to sign up for a class. After completing the class you
will be interviewed by church elders. Your names are then
submitted for approval at the next congregational meeting.
